FairRoot/CbmRoot Simulation and Analysis framework

چکیده
The Virtual Monte Carlo concept allows performing simulations using Geant3, Geant4 or Fluka without changing the user code [1]. This concept was used as a base for developing the CbmRoot framework for the CBM collaboration [2]. In this concept, the same framework is used for simulation and data analysis. An Oracle database with a build-in versioning management is used to efficiently store the detector geometry, materials and parameters. As more experiments at the GSI where interested in using this framework, the framework was revised and the base packages of the framework where completely separated from the specific CBM implementation. Moreover, the framework became the new name FAIRROOT. On the Oracle server side, data bases for each experiment are running on a high availability cluster, new experiments can easily be added. The Schematic design of the framework is shown in Fig.[1].

Status of the FairRoot Simulation and Analysis framework
The event display in FairRoot is based on the Eve (Event Visualization Environment) package in ROOT [3]. Combined with trajectory visualization in FairRoot, the event display can be used directly from macro to display TGeoTracks (MC Tracks), Monte Carlo points and hits, together with the detector geometry. The FairEventManager implemented in FairRoot deliver an easy way to navigate through the ...
متن کاملALFA: The new ALICE-FAIR software framework
The commonalities between the ALICE and FAIR experiments and their computing requirements led to the development of large parts of a common software framework in an experiment independent way. The FairRoot project has already shown the feasibility of such an approach for the FAIR experiments and extending it beyond FAIR to experiments at other facilities[1, 2]. The ALFA framework is a joint dev...

متن کاملEvent Reconstruction in the PandaRoot framework
The PANDA experiment will study the collisions of beams of anti-protons, with momenta ranging from 2-15 GeV/c, with fixed proton and nuclear targets in the charm energy range, and will be built at the FAIR facility. In preparation for the experiment, the PandaRoot software framework is under development for detector simulation, reconstruction and data analysis, running on an Alien2-based grid. ...
متن کاملFeasibility of hyperon detection in the CBM experiment∗
The measurement of hyperons will enable the CBM experiment to characterise the strangeness content of the fireball created in high-energy nucleus-nucleus reactions, one of the key observables to access the collision dynamics. CBM aims at multi-differentialmeasurements (spectra, flow) as function of collision energy and system size, which is a challenging task in particular for the rare Ω close ...
